Must Hear AC/DC Songs

"Iron Man 2" is in theaters nationwide now. The film is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name and is directed by Jon Favreau, starring Robert Downey Jr. As with all big-budget Hollywood flicks, music plays an important role and this film features choice cuts by one of the world's biggest rock bands, AC/DC.

AC/DC released the album "Iron Man 2" earlier this year. While there are no new tracks on "Iron Man 2," the record does span 10 different classic AC/DC discs. This means you're getting some of the band's biggest hits - and deeper cuts to boot. To celebrate the movie and new album, Noisecreep decided to countdown the most popular AC/DC tracks from AOL radio.

10. "Rock 'n' Roll Train"

"Rock 'n' Roll Train" is the first single from the 2008 album "Black Ice." The single went to the top of the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock list. Like most AC/DC tunes, "Rock 'n' Roll Train" was written by the brothers Angus and Malcolm Young. If you saw AC/DC on their recent and massive world tour, then you know "Rock 'n' Roll Train" played a big role in the show - complete with a massive locomotive as a stage prop.

09. "Shoot To Thrill"

"Shoot To Thrill" is featured on both the "Iron Man 2" soundtrack and "Back In Black." If you're reading this page, chances are you own "Back In Black." Considering "Back In Black" is the bestselling album ever released by a band, every track on the album is considered iconic. "Shoot To Thrill" was written by the brothers Young and singer Brian Johnson and was featured in the first "Iron Man" trailer and several other movies and television shows.

08. "T.N.T."

Turns out "T.N.T." really is dynamite when referring to AC/DC's catalog. The title track from the album "T.N.T.," the track was written by the brothers Young and late singer Bon Scott. Released as a single in 1976, "T.N.T." quickly became synonymous with AC/DC. Maybe it's all the letters? Or maybe it's just the fact that "T.N.T." has a strong riff that gets stuck in the listener's head for days and days.

07. "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"

Often the anthem of the frustrated - and slightly insane - "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" is a track off the 1976 album of the same name (the album wasn't released in America until 1981). Again written by the brothers Young and Scott, "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" is a live staple and is also featured on the 1992 double-album "AC/DC Live."

06. "Thunderstruck"

The Young brothers penned "Thunderstruck" for the 1990 album "The Razors Edge." "Thunderstruck" is also featured on the "Iron Man 2" soundtrack and is one of AC/DC's most famous songs. Several sports teams have used "Thunderstruck" to get the home crowd pumped. Unsurprisingly, "Thunderstruck" was played early in the set on many of the "Black Ice" tour stops.

05. "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)"

Fire! Long the anthem of every rock band, "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)" is known the world over for both the message and the cannons. The single is from the 1981 album of the same name and was written by singer Brian Johnson and the Young brothers. A mega-successful single, "For Those About To Rock" became an instant classic. So much so that the band uses the track to close live shows, complete with cannon action. The album "For Those About To Rock We Salute You was the band's first to reach the top of the Billboard chart.

04. "Back In Black"

And then there was "Back In Black," and suddenly no band could ever reach the same level as AC/DC. The album "Back In Black," released in 1980, was written by the brothers Young and Johnson and produced by Mutt Lange. It was the first AC/DC album to feature Brian Johnson on vocals, and the entire disc is dedicated to fallen friend Bon Scott. The single "Back In Black" is a specific, upbeat tribute to Scott, with lyrics like: "Forget the hearse 'cause I'll never die/I got nine lives/Cat's eyes/Usin' every one of them and running wild." The opening guitar riff is undeniable - hear two bars and you're on your feet. "Back In Black" is also featured on the "Iron Man 2" album.

03. "You Shook Me All Night Long"

The track was a successful single, staying on the charts for a long time and helped propel sales of "Back In Black." The track features a great guitar solo that has been attempted by every kid with a rock star dream. Oh, and "You Shook Me All Night Long" has been covered by everyone ... including Celine Dion and Shania Twain.

02. "Hells Bells"

You ever hear your grandma say "Hells Bells" after something went wrong in the kitchen? Maybe AC/DC picked up the phrase from her. Regardless, the song is the opening track from "Back In Black," and the ominous tolling bells clue the listener that a mega sonic experience is about to occur. Like many other popular AC/DC tracks, "Hells Bells" is regularly used at sporting events.

01. "Highway To Hell"

"Highway To Hell" is the title track from their 1979, written by the Young brothers and Scott. The song "Highway To Hell" made the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's list of 500 tracks that shaped the genre. The track also caused parental uproar, what with all the silly Satanist rumors floating around. The members of AC/DC might not be Satanists, but they are smart marketers: the song, coupled with Angus Young's penchant for devil horns, sure does make for a nice merchandise idea. But back to "Highway To Hell." The album will always be significant in the AC/DC catalog, because it is the last to feature Bon Scott. "Highway To Hell" remains a live staple.

Slash's Solo Album

La weekly dusted off the ol' video camera and met up with split at guitar center on february 11 to jabber with Regards To partnering with the retailer for a first-of-its-kind unsigned band ep competition (guitar center presents your next record with slash) and jabber details bottom his self-titled solo album due this april - including renting a convertible for iggy pop , immoral ordering potato chips and jack daniel's for lemmy , immoral staying out of sorrow , immoral why jack white wouldn't warble on a track , immoral slash's newfound attitude towards working with frontmen , immoral and extra.immoral perceive the video and then read excerpts from the jabber below:

La weekly: let's initiate by talking with Regards To this unsigned artisan competition with guitar center.

Slash: it's pretty cool.immoral it's an interesting prospect because i don't guess that up-and-coming rock and roll has gotten its reasonable shake over the final ten years.immoral i guess this is a genuinely large avenue for people to endeavor and win picked up , immoral fundamentally , immoral and win numerous music recorded.immoral it's a good sturdy foundation to build on.immoral i'm fascinated to see what people submit and see what's out there.immoral the whole goal is to find that band that's got a musical personality and all those qualities akin to rock and roll.immoral.immoral.immoral that phantom that turned me on to it when i was coming up.immoral that's far and few between in this industry right now but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

You also hold a solo record coming out in april , immoral split , immoral and it's being described as your introductory loyal solo record.immoral but you've done stuff before on your hold , immoral traditionally why would this be the definitive solo record for you at this point?

I guess when it comes down to it , immoral inside of the introductory year i picked up a guitar i've always been in a band.immoral level when i had snakepit , immoral which was a band that originated with me , immoral it was motionless treated as a band.immoral it was five unalike guys who had equal input traditionally it was a grouping appointment , immoral that sort of democracy that makes up a hopefully practicable grouping [laughs].immoral after years of living Up To that and then the whole thing with velvet revolver and scott [weiland] and revisiting difficult guide singers again , immoral i obviously needed to effect something where i was avocation my hold shots.immoral i needed to be capable to effect whatsoever music i wanted to effect without having to torment with Regards To the other guys nitpicking it to demise or rejecting it totally.

Speaking of difficult singers , immoral you definitely hold worked with two of the extra difficult in the industry -- axl and scott.immoral on this solo album , immoral now you've got a ton of singers you've worked with.immoral you've got iggy pop , immoral ozzy , immoral fergie.immoral.immoral.

Rocco deluca.immoral from kid rock to ozzy , immoral iggy pop , immoral lemmy -- those obsolete pack guys -- and then andrew stockdale from wolfmother and m.immoral shadows from avenged sevenfold , immoral it's a real eclectic compound of vocal performances.immoral but they were all large.immoral every single one of them was genuinely professional , immoral obviously genuinely talented , immoral but none of them gave me the impression of being highly volatile.immoral it was a cool appointment because it was obviously one ditty.immoral it wasn't like it was their next large whack for their record that they had to torment with Regards To.immoral it's obviously a ditty for slash; no large deal.

Well , immoral as long as it wasn't marketing the difficulties of working with one singer for the difficulties of working with 12.immoral you obviously like to up the ante don't you?

[laughs] it was genuinely a very satisfying and worthwhile effort because it gave me a fresh lease on the whole guide singer reality.immoral it's not as theatrical and hectic as my experience has been prior to this.immoral it's given me a fresh attitude towards working with frontmen , immoral with all due respect to scott and axl.immoral those guys are two of the most amazing singers and portion of what makes them traditionally large is their volatility.immoral equitably i can't pronounce anything negative.immoral for this record , immoral not knowing what i was becoming into , immoral it was genuinely painless and easy -- the creative portion of it.

You lie.immoral that sounds too good to be loyal.

[laughs] it was genuinely a doom of diversion.immoral i obviously wrote music and demoed up 20 songs and sent them out to singers that i thought would be proper for whatsoever given portion of music.immoral it didn't win complicated until we had to deal with the paperwork for each artisan [laughs].

Were there whatsoever singers that you approached for this album that turned you down?

Two.immoral and one of these was blown out of proportion.immoral i did the record with eric valentine who is the most superb producer and the perfect guy for me; it was almost like match made in heaven for this design.immoral originally discoloration ronson was slated to effect it and there was this one ditty i couldn't shape out who was going to warble it.immoral he suggested jack white and i thought that'd be interesting traditionally he went to jack white and jack said , immoral "i'll play drums on it , immoral i'll play guitar on it , immoral but i won't warble on it." and for numerous singers that's a very personal thing that they effect within the confines of their hold grouping.immoral equitably that one didn't happen.immoral another one , immoral there's an instrumental on the record , immoral and dave grohl was playing drums and i originally wanted him to warble it as traditionally but he was like , immoral "i don't like living Up To guest spots.immoral i suck at it , " traditionally we obviously made an instrumental out of it.immoral there was one other guy i couldn't win because of contractual [reasons].immoral everybody else i was genuinely lucky to win and for the ditty that jack white was going to effect , immoral i ended up working with myles kennedy which was a blessing in disguise.
